Over the course of the past couple of weeks or so, I have been working tirelessly to bring a new look and feel to Charlesimages-Stormedia.com. The main focus for most of my work has been on the new photo galleries, and photo gallery pages. I developed an attractive way to showcase each gallery by combining 6 of my best shots into a cover for each parent gallery page. I added all of these cover images to sliders, which showcase them brilliantly. The process for creating these wasn’t easy, but definitely worth the time to get everything exactly right. In addition to the covers and sliders is a new spot on the site’s menu bar that has a drop down feature for easy navigation to each parent gallery. I also added gallery indexes to the bottom of each parent gallery page for ease of navigation on a mobile device, or if the slider ever stops working for any reason. I also wanted to give the website a full on makeover, even down to the small stuff. I have new social follow buttons, new widgets at the bottom of every page and post of this site. I have moved the ads around to look more professional and inviting as well. This site also has a FavIcon now. That appears to the left of your URL area in your browser window. Now when you visit my website, you will see a clip of my website’s banner, the lightning bolt, in small icon form. It’s changes like these that really personalize the site as a whole. The new news feed on the home page is a huge improvement from my previous home page news feeds, and offers a tabular section at the bottom to click through the posts. There are a lot of behind the scenes things I have accomplished too, from big changes, to odds and ends, I pulled out all the stops on this one. This overhaul is not yet complete, I still have some new things to add, and I will be doing so in the near future. Stay tuned for that. This is all in the best interest of creating a more user friendly and attractive website for you, the fans and followers of my work.
